MARKREE CASTLE DESTINATION WEDDING IRELAND
Anjelica from Boston and Andrew Houston from Oakland, California were colleagues, then friends, and lovers, before their relationship eventually culminated into a beautiful marriage. Both Anjelica and Andrew worked for BART, and it was at one of the happy hours that the couple first met and made friends with each other. Work got the couple join together for similar events, and during one such work event when the two of them were getting their name badges, Anjelica’s name badge was mistakenly written as Anjelica “Houston”! This was hilarious and interesting at the same time, as it first got Andrew thinking if this was a sign for their future together?
Anjelica’s realization about her liking for Andrew came a few months later when a group of friends were out with them to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in San Francisco. A few weeks later, the two attended a work gala, and that night Anjelica received a text from Andrew saying “do you like me”? In Anjelica’s words; “I responded “yes, do you?” and then he didn’t respond until 12 hours later, the next day, because he had fallen asleep. Fortunately, the response was yes though. Knowing the way to my heart is food, a week or two later he presented me with a heart shaped chocolate cake which said, “will you be by girlfriend?” And from there we were together!”
After being together for 2 years and travelling worldwide to Vancouver, Belize, Hawaii, Mexico City, London, Berlin, Paris and many more places; Andrew finally caught Anjelica off guard in Napa Valley and proposed her lady love on one knee while getting a mud bath! The fact that it was just the two of them in that intimate moment, made the unexpected proposal even more special and unforgettable.

My photographer :) advice to the couple was to get their first look outdoor photos before the ceremony really worked out, for it rained soon after the wedding ceremony. Being a wedding coordinator herself, Anjelica handed over this responsibility for her big day to Paula, her business partner and great friend who literally was the unsung hero for the entire wedding coordination. On the whole, getting married in a historic castle in Ireland was nothing less than feeling like a king and queen for the couple amidst the company of their close friends and family celebrating the most special day of their life.
