My experience tells me that modern couples aren’t interested in traditional wedding photography with it’s stale posing. We know this, because we talk to modern couples all the time. Our experience tells us that modern couples are looking for modern photography. Styled, fun and most of all honest and meaningful. Sure, we may ask you to strike a pose from time to time. A kiss here, a cuddle there. The difference is, the smiles on your faces will be real. We like to call it “art direction” rather than posing. This is fresh modern photography with an emphasis on the bride & groom enjoying their day and getting wonderful photography at the same time. Not traditional wedding photography I am not a traditional wedding photographer. My specialty is creating an honest and natural visual narrative of your wedding day. I prefer not to ask people to look at my camera and smile. I love laughter – but when it’s natural and real. I like tears and nervous looks. I like windswept hair, and the not-so-perfect reality of life. Although I prefer nice weather, I don’t mind the rain or a veil blowing wildly in the wind. I am there to help and give direction, but prefer to create situations that encourage authentic emotion. Most of all, I believe the photography process should add to your day, not take away from it. What about the family photos? Although I put emphasis on the naturalness of the photography, I believe family photos are extremely important at weddings. I also believe couples who hire me want to spend a limited time away from their wedding doing them. My approach to family photography at weddings is simple. I have a suggested list of 6-8 photos for immediate family. I understand that weddings aren’t all the same, so of course there is some variation expected on this list, but my interest is getting the key family “mantel piece” photos in a quick and efficient way so you can get back to the fun of the main event.

I take a relaxed, documentary approach to my photography style. Focusing on my couples being comfortable and having a laugh, rather than stiff overly posed images.
